hey there, summer here

Wow. What can I say? Summer is upon me and I can hardly believe the changes that have already taken place. It’s hard to believe that 2 weeks ago I was working really hard to catch up with work from being sick and also study for finals. That was a stressful time. I am so glad to be home and have a change of pace and a much needed break from school.

As far as the mono goes, I’m doing SO MUCH better. Those first two weeks were the worst. I have never been so sick and I never want to experience that again. That is all I will say on that. Now I have a lot of my energy back and get so much more sleep here.

The worst part about the mono is even though my energy is back I can’t resume “normal physical activity” for a while. I still can’t do any sports or other contact activities. While I am usually not big on sports I lately have really wanted to go to the batting cages as I mentioned before. I am also really missing doing strength training and stuff at the gym. The week before I got sick I was working myself up to running more often and was loving it. I also was doing a lot more weights and strength training which I love. I really hate going to the gym but love doing weights and crunches and stretching. I can’t do anything right now but walk and lightly jog so I’m missing that a lot. Especially when the old man on the treadmill next to me this morning was walking faster than me. Oh dear. (on a side note I am looking into swimming for some good cardio since it’s non impact.)

Also, God really has provided for me and has given me a JOB. I really didn’t think I would find a job for a while but a family in the neighborhood was looking for a babysitter and the hours worked with my completely open schedule so here I am, a nanny again! I’ve been reflecting on this irony a lot lately and am working on a piece that will appear here sometime soon called “Babysitting for the Glory of God”. You can look forward to that.

I have also enjoyed some great times of fellowship with friends and family, especially on mother’s day. My mom is an amazing woman and I am so blessed. πŸ™‚

And just in case you wanted to know, my room is still a mess. I haven’t quite figured this whole unpacking thing out.

So here are some things to look forward to here on the blog:

-Babysitting for the Glory of God

-My Summer Reading List (which I have already delved into)

-A list of some Summer Favorites

Note: This list is really more for my own motivation as I feel that if I post it and you read it I will have to write these articles or feel that I let you down. So yeah. Hopefully I will do it!
