I’m trying to learn to live on less these days. My heart yearns for simplicity. The world around me screams commercialism and that stuff is the way to happiness. But my Saviour whispers that this is not the way, that only by knowing His heart and walking in His ways will I find true joy. I am also reminded of life in India and how simple it was and how fulfilled and satisfying it was to not worry about material possessions. I had 3-4 skirts, 6 shirts, a punjabi outfit and that was it. I wore the same clothes over and over again yet I really didn’t care. I didn’t have a tv or a computer or nintendo wii. Yet I found the Lord there in countless places.
So here I am in my shack of an apartment as I call it, looking around at all the “stuff” I have gathered. Amy over at The Finer Things in Life posted about giving away items that you no longer need anymore and sharing them with others. I am stealing her idea. I love it.
I am an avid reader and used books on amazon are my vice. But after I read them they just pile up and take up space. So I’m clearing out some and you dear blog reader get to get in on the fun! Here are the books I’m giving away:
1. Flies on the Butter by Denise Hildreth
2. Kissing Adrien by Siri L. Mitchell
3. Be my neat-heart by Judy Baer
All three are more in the chick-lit, fun and flirty category but they also have some great life lessons that will not disapoint.
Here’s how this will work. You leave a comment saying you want in on the fun. In a couple of days I’ll put names in a hat and randomly draw names. I’ll post the winners who can e-mail me their addresses. And hopefully after you read em you’ll want to share the bloggy book love and pass it on to a friend or blog-reader of your own.
Let the book fun begin!
