The Trophy Wives Club by Kristin Billerbeck

Miss Invisible by Laura Jensen Walker

Miss Invisible is the tale of a plus-sized baker who has an aversion to wearing anything but black. Freddie (short for Fredericka) has always been labeled fat and ostracized by her father and stepmother. Now she’s a baker/cake decorator at a local bakery where she is tormented by her petite-sized-arch-nemesis boss Anya. In the book Freddie meets Deborah, a large black woman who is not afraid to let loose and live life to its fullest. The book is about Freddie’s adventure of finding herself. It’s a hilarious read that I did not want to put down, full of embarassing moments and cheesy pick up lines. Miss Invisible also has a good deal of thought-provoking moments. It made me think about if I make others ever feel invisible and how awful that really is. Though there are some major cheesy moments, I would say this is a definite read for the beach or vacation or maybe if you need a vacation. 🙂

  1. I agree. This was a good “summer” read. 🙂 I’ve been meaning to review it on my site, too, but just haven’t had a chance yet. I’ll get to it eventually.
